San Shi Part 1

Qi Shi ("Commencement Posture") is the start of every form in Tai chi, starting with the feet together step to the side for spinal alignment, internal balance and to feel rooted in the lower body. Inhale deeply to the lower dantian ( lower stomach), lifting arms to shoulder height; exhale, lowering arms fostering equilibrium by activating the parasympathetic system. Mentally approach the training with poised curiosity so that you are nurturing proprioceptive flow through each movement.
