Stage 1: The Foundation — San Shi / Bafa Wubu

Focus: Posture, balance, coordination, and the basic principles of movement.
This stage introduces the eight methods and five steps, helping you build awareness of alignment, weight transfer, and relaxation. It creates a strong foundation for safe, confident practice.

Benefit: Develop better balance, body awareness, and a calmer, more settled way of moving.

Stage 2: Core Integration — 13 Form

Focus: Whole-body connection and smooth movement.
The 13 Form helps you connect the body as one unit, reducing unnecessary tension and improving coordination through continuous, flowing practice.

Benefit: Build relaxed strength, improved mobility, and a more connected sense of movement.

Stage 3: The Cognitive Bridge — 26 Form

Focus: Memory, focus, and body-mind coordination.
This stage develops your ability to follow more detailed movement patterns while staying relaxed and present. The practice encourages concentration, timing, and coordination between the mind and body.

Benefit: Improve focus, clarity, confidence, and the ability to stay calm while learning more complex movement.

Stage 4: The Longevity Practice — 38 Form

Focus: Strength, joint mobility, and long-term movement health.
Through deeper stances, controlled weight shifts, and fluid transitions, this stage supports leg strength, posture, mobility, and joint awareness.

Benefit: Support resilient movement, stronger legs, better posture, and healthier joints.

Stage 5: Continued Training — Master Flow

Focus: Refinement, self-regulation, and lifelong practice.
With continued training, Tai Chi becomes less about simply learning movements and more about refining how you move, breathe, respond, and recover. The principles become part of everyday life, supporting calm, adaptability, and confidence.

Benefit: Develop presence, ease, resilience, and a practice that can support you for life.

I had a great private Taiji session with Teri Dee. She was so knowledgeable and I really got the impression that I was getting an authentic Taiji experience rather than just going through the motions. She was also more than happy to go through things multiple times when I kept getting the moves muddled up. I would highly recommend Baihu Taiji.

TD’s tai chi class is easy to walk into without being watered down. She explains why a movement works the way it does, not just how, which made a lot of sense to me. No tai chi background needed but she has a lot of experience and works professionally! Thank you so much. looking forward to my next class!

Teri is a wonderful teacher - she really spends the time helping with your technique and goes at a pace you can manage. It’s an interesting and relaxing hour - would recommend!

I strongly recommend Teri Dee to anyone interested in learning tai chi, improving their posture, and building resilience. Her teaching is of excellent quality, and her presence is inspiring and soothing.

I had my first one to one lesson with Teri today. It was really enjoyable. Terri is so knowledgeable, and takes the time to understand an individuals body. I would really recommend anyone thinking of trying it to first have a couple of one to one lessons, as the intricacies of the movements are so important. Its definitely not something that can be learnt overnight, but it made me see with time and perseverance the benefits of both body and mind that can be achieved.
Terri also made the lesson fun and I will definitely be continuing until I have improved enough to join the group classes.

Learning from someone who has a lifelong experience in authentic martial arts is such a unique and enriching opportunity. Teri Dee‘s classes go beyond just movements, it‘s real, authentic inner work.
